2026 Commitment Card
From Father Paul Rasmus, St. Patrick's Priest-in Residence:
Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Patrick's
"Walk in love as Christ loved us and gave himself an offering and sacrifice to God"
For years I have used these words as the Offertory Sentence at the Eucharist and I believe they are at the heart of what it means to follow our Lord on a daily basis. It reminds me that Jesus' life was a sacrificial life and a life that was lived out in absolute love.
Our Vestry has designated Sunday, December 14, 2025 as Commitment Sunday. Parishioners were mailed a Pledge Card in which you can indicate your commitment of giving to St. Patrick's for 2026. On the 14th we will offer these commitments at the altar, consecrating our commitment.
I have to say that our giving is as important today as it has ever been. The truth is that we are not quite meeting our financial obligations and we are running a deficit budget. This is not sustainable and it means we are each going to have to dig a little deeper and increase our giving.
The fact is we all need to give just a little bit more to ensure the future on-going life of St. Patrick's. Our Vestry is doing a great job at managing the funds we have but there is only so much stretching we can do .
My hope and prayer is that each of us will find a way to increase our giving by a small percentage that can bring us to a positive cash flow and insure the future of the important ministry we are doing in this place. May God continue to bless· each and every one of you.
Again, St. Patrick's Commitment Sunday Celebration is December 14, 2025. Commitment cards are to be returned/submitted by that date. You may complete your commitment card online by clicking the link below. You will receive an email confirmation that your pledge was received.
In Christ,
Father Paul Rasmus
